Strong character acting was the hallmark of this production of an Alan Ayckbourn play, the two leads especially succeeding in expressing the fear and anxiety behind their characters’ attempts to keep up appearances and pretend a sense of belonging in the face of the more or less obvious disdain of their wealthier guests.
