The Bald Soprano
St. Anne’s, Wednesday 25th November, 7.00pm,
Review by Paul Hardwick
The Bald Soprano, a translation of the original French farce, was highly entertaining. A surreal critique of English middle class mores the production was full of life and energy. Edward Bell’s ‘Mr Smith’ was a highlight, inducing many a laugh with some animated physical humour whilst Matthew Perkins’ direction (and much appreciated use of Brio) was commendable, ...

Cleansed
St Annes, Wednesday 25th November, 12.30 p.m.
Review by Robert Williams
Cleansed is not an easy play to stage: arms need to be amputated, tongues get cut out.
“A curate’s egg of a production.” Ed Cripps

Work in Progress
St Anne’s, Wednesday 25th November, 4:20pm
Review by Ed Cripps

Taking a similarly post-modern approach to Cuppers drama as St Catz’ Straight Guys Do Anal, this is a curate’s egg of a production. There are some very funny moments, such as Harpreet Sunny Gohal’s cameo as a banana-eating cleaner and flashes of idiocy from the posh tit (“What is the capital of Africa?”), but the characterisation (stereotypical Old Etonian, angry dean), script (Brokeback Mountain gag, grammar corrections) and plotting (I ...
