This is a compelling production, full of tension, complexity, and thought-provokingly intense. The standard of acting was superb throughout from a convincing assumption of early adolescence in the character of Kit to the nuanced realisation of family dynamic and complex relationships between sisters, Joyce and Marlene, and their daughter/niece. This latter role was undertaken with assurance by Meriel Cunningham, who succeeded in reconciling both sweetness and suppressed violence in the central character of Angie. ...]]></description>

A delightful rendition of Peter Shaffer’s play; it explored secrets hidden by shadows and deception revealed when the lights turned on. Appreciation must be shown towards the technician whose timing, an essential part of the play, was perfect. However, the acting of the main character, Brindsley, was poor.
